6 febrero, 2019

The Stockholm Furniture Fair, which is held this week, shows an original and innovative wooden rocking chair, with the collaboration of the Montanino kitchens manufacturer from Madrid.

06.02.2019 Flect is a rocking chair of the Spanish company Marinomaza that this week is exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. Designed by the architect Andrés Mariño, and produced in collaboration with the manufacturer Montanino, the rocking chair combines classicism, modernity and technology.

In fact, it has a structure of curved laminated wood, the result of combining craftsmanship with just machining. The perfect symmetry of its forms is achieved thanks to a last generation CNC.

According to its author on the Madera Sostenible (sustainable wood) website, Flect perfectly reflects the philosophy of Marinomaza Furniture & Lighting, which rather than manufacturing products in series, seeks to offer unique, exclusive solutions, almost as if they were works of art.

Materials

In this sense, the designer has opted for wood as the main raw material for this rocking chair for its sustainable character, 100% recyclable, in addition to its versatility. Specifically, the American ash, for its ability to withstand bent. Also, this wood is combined with others and with the leather of the backrest and the seat, to achieve the desired result.

Montanino has been in charge of manufacturing the first prototypes of Flect, showing that it is capable of materializing the most complex design ideas.

The Flect rocking chair by Marinomaza y Montanino can be seen at the furniture fair in the Swedish capital, between 5 and 9 February.
