Smeg and Fiat join forces to create a new item worthy of collectors and lovers of modern technology with style: the refrigerator Smeg 500.

The May 30, 2013 was presented during an event at Colette, the famous store on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, the Smeg 500, the result of collaboration between Fiat and Smeg which demonstrate that a refrigerator is not just a electric device and a hood is not just a car part.

he pairing of the two companies dates back to the fifties, and demonstrates the combination of industrial expertise and Italian creativity.

With this collaboration, the Fiat 500 expands its appeal into bars and living rooms around the world. The SMEG 500 fridge furthers the line of exclusive Fiat 500 Design Collection products, which include a sofa, table, and console table. All items were inspired by the car which has marked the collective imagination of Italy.

Fiat has reaffirmed its interest in design, with this new fridge that shows off a new look, while capturing and intriguing the eye of those who see it. The new Smeg 500 is also a symbolic product that shows the long connection between the two brands. The first time Fiat and Smeg partnered up was in the 1950s, where an agreement was made that led Fiat to expand its production to include refrigerators.
