Open by Scavolini: design and functionality beyond the kitchen

Styled by Vuesse, it is a creative furnishing programme for a new approach to home design that blurs the boundaries between living and working areas. Open is a kitchen without boundaries, that blends impeccable efficiency with comfort and prestige, flexible use of space and a contemporary mood. Its perfect adaptability in terms of layout is achieved through a vast range of simple, elegant elements that also includes storage peninsulas and islands, partitions, bookshelves and compositions specifically designed for living areas.

Open is a complete furnishing programme for the kitchen and living room, where compositional freedom and personalisation are guaranteed by a vast number of distinctive features that make this new collection extremely versatile: new visible back panel for tall units in the same finish as the door, ideal for kitchens that blend into the living area; flap door wall-mounted units and wall-mounted base units 37 cm tall and 60 cm deep to allow absolutely personal design schemes in both kitchen and living room; table with holdup support for creation of peninsulas ideal for dining and entertaining; base units 62 cm tall, laminate top 2 cm thick, open-fronted and end units with shelves, and wall cladding with wiring cavity 4.8 cm thick are additional important items designed to ensure absolute convenience and impeccable style in both areas.

The new coat cupboard, ideal for furnishing an entry hall, is another new feature. The new line also includes specially designed tables, chairs and stools, to form a complete, flexible range. The choice of finishes is also large (wood, lacquered and laminate, plain doors, staved doors, frame doors, 13 types of handles), as is the range of colours available. The plinth oak finish for use with wood doors is another original touch.

Open is an Italian-made kitchen with a green personality: responsive to environmental concerns, for the carcase of this collection, like those of all its other kitchens, Scavolini uses Idroleb Ecological Panels by the Mauro Saviola Group, which meet the dual objective of protecting the environment and paying the maximum attention to consumers’ health. These panels are made entirely from post-consumption wood, with the world’s lowest formaldehyde emissions, at levels actually below the limits set by the extremely severe Japanese F**** standards, which require an emissions level of 0.4 mg/l, while Idroleb panels guarantee a level of 0.35 mg/l.  Idroleb panels also comply with the V100 water-repellence standard, with a guarantee of swelling of no more than 10% over a 24-hour period.
