Silestone awards European Chef of the Year to Ángel León at Madrid Fusión 2017

Santiago Alfonso, Communications and Marketing Director of Cosentino Group, has awarded this year´s European Chef of the Year to the Cádiz-born chef Ángel León at Madrid Fusión 2017.

At this international culinary event (23-25 January, Madrid’s Palacio de Congresos), the organisers of the competition wanted to recognise Ángel León, also know as The Chef of the Sea, for his unstoppable research in marine gastronomy and his continued environmental advocacy.

Cosentino has backed this award since its creation in 2014 and watched it grow to become one of the most important distinctions at this culinary gathering. That said, the relationship between Cosentino and its brands and Madrid Fusion goes even further; this year was the tenth occasion on which the Almerian multinational lends its support to this internationally-renowned culinary event.

More than ten Silestone quartz counters was placed backstage in the main hall and in the multi-purpose room. Those one hundred chefs from 15 different countries cooked on these counters.
