14.07.2020 The Board of Cepra-Centro Promozionale Acimall had to take note that it is impossible to organize Xylexpo in 2020; so, it has sett the next date for exhibitors and visitors in 2022. Thus, Cepra communicated the non-existence of objective conditions to organize the 2020 edition of Xylexpo, biennial world exhibition for woodworking technology and furniture supplies. And it did it with an official letter to all exhibitors signed by President Lorenzo Primultini on July 6, 2020.
Postponing the exhibition to November 2020 – Primultini’s letter states – seemed the best possible solution. But the efforts of our organization in recent months and the constant monitoring of all the conditions required to offer a successful exhibition have clearly shown that the situation in November will not be favorable, yet. With its global scope and more than one out of three exhibitors and visitors coming from abroad, Xylexpo has an international soul and vocation. And it would be seriously jeopardized by sanitary and economic conditions that are still unsolved in many world regions.
So, the date with Xylexpo is postponed to 2022. The exhibition team is already working to design a Xylexpo event that takes into account new ideas and recent changes to create a new and more modern digital oriented showcase, deploying a strategy that will be supported with proposals and initiatives in the coming months.
Good prospects cut short by the situation
At Xylexpo 2020, its organizers hoped to repeat the figures from the last edition: 400 exhibitors and about 37,000 visitors, a third from outside Italy. International leaders in the sector, such as Biesse, SCM, Homag, Ima Schelling, Cefla or Weinig, had confirmed their presence. And it was also going to be the stage for the celebration of the fourth Xylexpo Awards and multiple training activities. All this, unfortunately, and as has already happened in most of the fairs in the furniture and habitat sector, will have to wait for the next edition, Xylexpo 2022.
