16.04.2020 Technical training has always been one of the pillars of Catas’ activity, the most important European laboratory for wood and furniture. Even during the emergency for the fight against the Covid-19, Catas Academy won’t stop. The laboratory has upgraded its own offer by presenting a new program of webinars open to all the companies operating in the wood and furniture sector.

These first three events have already been defined. The Catas technical experts will talk and deepen a selection of topics that currently affect the furniture sector.

Catas Academy: Full program

• On Tuesday, May 5 2020 at 2:00 PM (local time)
  Formaldehyde in the wood and furniture sector
  Speaker: Franco Bulian, Catas Vicedirector.
  It will be presented all is known today about formaldehyde which is considered as one of the main sources of indoor pollution caused by furniture. It will also be an opportunity to be informed on the legislative and regulatory context in Europe and the US.
• On Tuesday, May 12 2020 at 2:00 PM (local time)
  VOC and indoor environments
  Speaker: dr. Daniele Bergamasco, Catas Vicedirector.
  The materials for furniture containing VOC will be examined, by deepening how and in which situations VOC emissions should be considered dangerous. The focus will therefore be on the “indoor” air quality and on the reference test methods used for the emissions analysis.
• On Tuesday, May 19 2020 at 2:00 PM (local time)
  Motorised furniture
  Speaker: Andrea Giavon, Catas Director
  During the webinar instructions and guidelines for the application of the Machinery Directive (MD) in the cases of furniture products equipped with electrified movements will be provided.
