CIFF Guangzhou and Interzum Guangzhou, postponed by the coronavirus

26.02.2020 China Foreign Trade Guangzhou has released a statement informing of the postponement of CIFF Guangzhou. The 45th China International Furniture Fair was initially scheduled from March 18 to 21. The reason is, as the document affirms, to guarantee the health and safety of all participants, due to the epidemic caused by the Wuhan coronavirus (Hubei, China). CIFM / Interzum Guangzhou (International Machinery and Raw Materials Fair for Furniture 2020) has been also postponed. This fair was originally planned from 28 to 31 of the same month. The new dates of both, the letter continues, will be notified in due course.

As China is fighting a serious battle against the novel coronavirus, the statement reads, prevention and control of the epidemic is the country’s most important work for now. Following the Chinese government’s guidelines to contain the virus, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau recently announced that all large-scale economic and trade events should be suspended.
