From Wednesday 11th to Saturday 14th October at Crocus Expo-2, the Saloni WorldWide Moscow 2017 will showcase home-furnishing exhibits previously shown last April at the Salone del Mobile.Milano, where new trends and fresh talents have always taken off and positions and strategies consolidated.
27.07.2017-. The benchmark event for the home-furnishing and interior concepts sector is making a return to the Russian capital. Along with MADE expo, it covers the Russian market, one of the main outlets for Italy’s furnishing sector.
The advertising slogan for this 13th edition reads: Milan.Moscow.Design – #artofcreation, underscoring the commitment to taking the experience and innovative capacity of Milan and its Salone to a capital such as Moscow, which has made its appreciation of the creativity and manufacturing value of the event manifest over the last few years.
More than 260 companies (to date) will feature inside Pavilions 7 and 8, seeing the fair as a tremendous opportunity to gain a foothold in the Russian market and in that of the former Soviet Republics, which is increasingly keen on good quality products, from classic pieces to design and luxury ones.
More than 30,000 visitors are expected – professionals, general public and press – who see the event as the only vehicle for top notch furnishing on the Russian market, due in part to the huge array of goods – ranging from furnishings to upholstereds, lighting systems, kitchens, office furniture, furnishing accessories, bathroom furniture and textiles.
This year also marks the 13th edition of SaloneSatellite WorldWide Moscow, the platform for young designers from Russia and the former Soviet Republics, which affords the participants an opportunity for contact with the exhibiting companies and great visibility. Approximately 50 young participants, selected from among the top designers/students at the most prominent design schools in Russia and the former Soviet Republics, will present a huge range of projects that serve to underscore an increasingly deep commitment to design. The acknowledged top three designers – the award ceremony will take place at 12pm on Friday 13th October – will be invited to the 2018 edition of SaloneSatellite, held under the umbrella of the Salone del Mobile.Milano from 17th to 22nd April 2018.
The Saloni WorldWide Moscow operates in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency ICE, which will bring a delegation of some 100 sectoral buyers, operators and professionals from the regions, to the fair.
As is traditional, the Master Classes will be held again this year, providing an opportunity for interface with the great names in Italian architecture and design, and for reflection and discussion on design-related themes, thanks to the vast experience of speakers such as those at previous editions – Luca Nichetto, Ferruccio Laviani, Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni and Michele De Lucchi, to name but a few.
This year’s speakers, moderated by Olga Kosyreva, CEO and Founder of Design Lectorium, are Ciarmoli Queda Studio / Simone Ciarmoli and Miguel Queda, who curated the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2017 exhibition DeLightFuL, a portmanteau for Design, Light, Future, Living (11th October); Massimo Iosa Ghini, one of Italy’s leading contemporary architects and designers, who has been active in the Italian and European avant-garde since the mid-Eighties, with offices in Moscow, as well as in Milan, Bologna and Miami (12th October) and Cristina Celestino, a relatively new talent on the Italian design landscape, discovered by SaloneSatellite some years ago (13th October).
For the very first time, this edition will feature a Work Talk entitled “Sources of inspiration and interior design practice” given by Diana Balashova, an established young interior designer, who will discuss the trends captured at the Saloni WorldWide Moscow and describe the “actual” moment when inspiration strikes, and the ensuing design process.
MADE expo WorldWide, the event dedicated to interior architectural finishes, will be notching up its 4th edition, attended by leading companies from the doors, coverings and flooring sectors. It is held concomitantly and simultaneously with the Saloni WorldWide Moscow, and in the same pavilions, providing visitors to the Saloni with a cohesive overview of interior style. The main event, MADE expo, which instantly became a European point of reference for the world of architecture and construction, will be held in MILAN from 13th to 16th March 2019, in line with its biennial timing.
