Italy is shining over Singapore thanks to a project carried out by the Made in Italy New Renaissance in comparison with ASEAN emerging markets and the growth of southeast Asia.
08.03.2018 After last year great success, the project The Italian Hospitality by Giulio Cappellini is back for the 2018 edition of IFFS (International Furniture Fair Singapore) which is held from 8th to 11th March. The event is organised in collaboration with Marilena Puppi, CEO of OGS, exclusive IFFS representative in Europe and Middle East.
The main characteristics of the New Made in Italy are elegance, quality research, a dialogue between excellence and technology and great artisanal tradition continuity. They are, in that setting, optimally used and give, in one of the most dynamic area of the world, a unique and inimitable Italian Touch made of design and manual work.
A great novelty of the 2018 setting, the architect Giulio Cappellini explains, is the emphasis on ceramic, one of the Made in Italy excellence. It’s used for lining and floors but also as a decorative furnishing element. But that’s not all: bathroom set, technology for wellness, lighting system, etc. No other country succeeds in offering such a wide range of opportunities when Italy, and consequently the Italian Hospitality, is engaged in a coherent and innovative project, unquestionably powerful.

The Casamood ceramic lining create an impression of continuity when, from another point of view, two big stripes made of the Tenerife e Bali collection fabric of Giovanardi go all over the ceiling and dress the space in a loose and light way.
The columns, which draw a path in the space, allow the strategic layout of lighting elements such as Spillo, Luà, Albatros and the three Canaletto, Arbor and Emisfero chandeliers, all designed by Icone Luce. It creates a suggestive, but also technologic atmosphere.
In the centre of the space, where the large Astra and Medusa chandeliers of La Murrina stand out, almost representing a thematic path, a bathroom area appears with the VismaraVetro shower, Olympia Ceramiche toilets and the Cedit ceramic lining. It creates an island where technology and wellness become significant elements.
A series of ottoman, coated with Giovanardi fabrics with a blue and red alternation, create the continuity from the living area to the dining area, both furnished with furniture designed by Cappellini. In the first space you find Orla and Tulip armchairs, the Hobo sofa, Bong and Smoke small tables, the Luxor hutch. In the dining area, you see the Luxor table matched with Bac chairs.
An important creative operation is expressed in that area with four Tonalite ceramiche compositions used as graphic elements to give life to two large circles and two large squares.
Precious sculptures made in Murano, created by Wave Murano Glass with an entire handmade process will contribute to enhance the surprise of the visitors for the Italian craftsmanship.
Chromatic islands, play on materials, sophisticated lightings, design and technology: this is the sophisticated display coordinated by the architect Giulio Cappellini, one of the most well-known ambassadors of the Italian Touch worldwide. In 2018, he’s also ready to impress IFFS visitors in Singapore. They have the special opportunity to see all together in a unique space all the elements which make the Italian product so successful across the world.
